Kenya is a country in the east of the African Continent with a population of just over 35 million and an area of 580,000 km2, which borders Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the west, Tanzania to the south and Uganda and Sudan to the east. The south-east of the country looks out to the Indian Ocean. Kenya is one of the most developed countries in Africa, with its capital, Nairobi, one of the more developed cities, with the name of the country in honour of Mount Kenya, the highest peak. Kenya is also one of the most visited countries in Africa, as a result of the solid tourist infrastructure that has been developed there and, of course, because of the spectacular wildlife and world-famous safaris.
Both on its coastline and in its interior, Kenya is a natural paradise with rivers, lakes, national parks and nature reserves home to numbers of zebra, lions, leopards, hippos, giraffes and rhinos as well as over a thousand different species of bird, among which stand out pelicans and flamingos.
Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a challenge many people like to attempt, and is another attraction that brings flocks of tourists to Kenya. The landscapes of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Turkana, the cities of Mombasa, Malindi and Nyeri, the spectacular beaches, Lamu Island....another selection of jewels in Kenya's crown.
So with so many things to do, a so many hotels, hostels, apartments and campsites to choose from, there is nothing stopping you from experiencing an unforgettable holiday/safari in this magical country. |
